Hey!
Just itching to hear the thrilling conclusion of yesterday’s special Executive Committee meeting on casinos in Toronto? Haven’t been near a TV or radio for the past 24 hours or so? Not read a newspaper?
In that case, you’re going to want to click on over to our post at Torontoist for all the detes, as the kids these days say.

“The problem with casinos is that the votes won’t fall that way. There’s no ideological or geographic split on the issue.”
I’m not sure that will be the case. The downtown NIMBYs will be a target on the casino issue and jets at the island airport.
Also, on both items the unions will have a big say. That could work in Ford’s favour too. Look how pandering to union jobs begot us the current glut of condos and a crappy public realm. The uptown crowds will remember that.
When I hear that Olivia Chow is scared to pop her head up I know Ford is still a force to be reckoned with.
